SRA Retail Awards Gala Night 2026
Four connected photo experiences that put every guest in the picture at Singapore's biggest retail night and the festival around it
Everyone In The Room, On The Wall
For the Singapore Retailers Association's flagship Awards Gala and the month-long Singapore Retail Festival, Monadex designed a connected suite of four photo experiences built on one idea: capture every guest once, then let that photo live everywhere.
An awards night, by design, celebrates a handful of winners on stage. The brief was to make the other several hundred guests feel like part of the show. Every guest photographed during the evening became a tile in a live-building mosaic, with around 800 photos assembling into the SRA seal on the main LED wall for the finale reveal. The same spirit ran through everything else on the floor: a quiz-driven booth that turned each guest into a collectible retail trading card, a roaming booth that switched to personalized winner frames the moment awards were announced, and a receipt printer that rang up every photo as “priceless.” Nobody left empty-handed, and nobody was left off the wall.
The Singapore Retailers Association is the national voice of Singapore's retail industry, and its Retail Awards Gala Night is the industry's biggest evening, bringing retail leaders, brand builders, mall operators and tech players into one ballroom.
A room like that is really a networking event in formal wear. So rather than a single photo backdrop, SRA and Monadex designed every experience as an icebreaker: something guests would compare, trade, and talk about between courses.
The Night In Pictures

Seven retail archetypes, from The Chaos Operator to The Retail Visionary, sealed in gold foil packs

The take-home haul: gala prints, personalized trading cards, and the only receipt in retail that totals to priceless
Scan a card and its digital twin bursts open: light rays, a flip, then a slow spin. Microinteractions that made every unboxing worth replaying

Winner frames personalized with each award and name, printed on the spot
Four Experiences, One Ecosystem
Each experience stood on its own; together they made one story: every guest captured, personalized, and included.
Live Photo-Mosaic Wall
01Capture stations fed a realtime pipeline that placed every guest photo into a growing mosaic of the SRA seal, reaching around 800 tiles by the end of the night before a 4K finale reveal
Retail Trading Card Photobooth
02Five quick questions mapped every guest to one of seven archetypes with stats like Industry Class and Chaos Resistance, each printed on the spot, sealed in a gold foil pack and linked by QR to a digital twin
Roaming Awardee Photobooth
03A portable booth whose software unlocked winner frames, personalized with each award title and recipient name, the moment results were announced
Receipt Photo Booth
04Black-and-white portraits printed as itemized store receipts: 1× Main Character Moment, 2× Gala Glam, 1× Retail Magic. Total: priceless
The same connected system scales to any event where the audience is the story:
Awards nights put a dozen people on stage. The technology's job was to put everyone else in the show.
That's the thinking behind capture-once design: one photo, taken in seconds, becomes a mosaic tile, a trading card, a digital collectible. Personalization does the engagement work. When a guest holds a card that names their archetype, they don't just keep it, they compare it. The technology stays invisible, and the moment does the work.
